Return to the Blog World...

I have never been one to blog on a regular basis, but I hope that is about to change. My goal is to blog at least once a month about the going ons of the boys, the hubby and our life as a family of four. It may not be interesting to you, but it is a way for me to keep records of our life and I think that perhaps the boys will appreciate some day in the future...maybe.

Benjamin is now 22 months old, and has been a big brother for 14 days now. He is the coolest kid we know, not to mention the most handsome big brother we have ever set eyes on! Benjamin can say over 100 words (yes I have written them down and counted), and is just now starting to put words together to make simple sentences. Benjamin in the past month has learned his colors! He knows red, purple, green, blue and yellow. We are very proud of him!  Benjamin is currently obsessed with Jesus (the Easter Story), Baseball (go Giants), animals, Olivia, playing outside, and the recently new phase of SCREAMING at the top of his lungs. He has really developed a silly personality that cracks us up on a daily basis. Benjamin has two friends Max and Jax. He doesn't see them a whole lot, but he does talk about them all the time. Their mothers and I are friends and I cannot wait to see the boys grow up together, and hopefully become lifelong friends! Benjamin has a lot of people in his life who just love him to pieces. His Nina and Bapa, Granny and Papa, Gigi, Auntie Melanie and Uncle Mike, Uncle Dan, Uncle Nate, Uncle Nick, Auntie Kort, Cousins, Auntie Lauren and Alex, his best buddies Johnny and Justin...all of these people love Ben so much and I am so thankful that he has such wonderful people in his life! Benjamin is still a picky boy when it comes to food...for breakfast he has oatmeal and peanut butter every morning...it is the first thing he says when we open his door in the morning. For lunch we have tried a variety of foods, the most successful is a quesadilla, which he will eat only a couple pieces of. For dinner he gets what I fix him. I am not one of those moms who is going to make each person in the family something different to eat. If he doesn't eat his dinner he doesn't get dessert, but we will give him fruit or something healthy that he likes so that he does eat something! And I am not going to lie...if he is throwing a fit for a cookie or fruit snacks when we are  out or at somebody else's house for dinner, then that is what he gets, it saves us and the people around us from seeing a massive temper tantrum. So we try to feed him healthy foods, but that is not always the case. We figure we would rather him eat something...and not go to bed hungry. His current favorite snacks are fruit cups, fruit snacks, apples, bananas, cookies, cheese, and strawberry milk! Benjamin has brought us so much joy over the past two years and I am so thankful for every moment with him. I cannot wait to see him grow up into a young man and see what his life has in store for him.
Now onto little Sully Bear. I cannot believe that Sullivan is two weeks old today! He is growing by the minute and I already want to stop time. He is such a sweet baby boy. He is a bit of a drama king...he doesn't cry when he wants something, he just lets out this scream. It is quite humorous. Sullivan was born on April 1st...yes April Fool's Day...does that mean he will be a little trouble maker....probably but I am sure he would be a little trouble maker regardless of what day he was born. Sully was born at 5:57 pm and weighed 7 lbs. 12 oz. and was 20 1/2 in. long. I was induced one week early because of Ben's LARGE size (9 lbs.)....and boy was I thankful. My recovery has been so easy!!!  My labor was fairly easy. The only thing that was not fun was that I was having strong contractions and was in PAIN but my monitor was not working, so no one would believe me when I told them that I was having strong contractions. Thy  finally put an internal monitor in, and then the nurse apologized! So I got my epidural shortly after that and it was smooth sailing! I went from 4 cm. to pushing in about 2 hours, and it only took 3 pushes to get Sully out! I truly enjoyed my labor experience. My nurse was awesome, he was so funny and we were joking the whole time. My delivery room was a bit full.... I had my nurse and he had 2 students with him, my doctor, Sully's nurse and her 3 students, plus Derek and I. Yes it was full, but honestly it made it very exciting. It was the first delivery the students had ever seen and they were SO excited when Sullivan was born. Oh, and my doctor played a horrible trick on me...when Sully came out he said "It's a GIRL" then about 30 seconds later after I was completely in shock he said "April Fools"!!!!!!!!!!! What a meany! It was super funny though! Sullivan is completely precious and beautiful. I cannot wait to see his personality develop, and I cannot wait to see the relationship between him and Benjamin to grow. Ben loves his baby so much!!!
